Free health screening clinic:-
Alongside Lincolnshire Rural Support Network (LRSN) we provide all farmers and their staff attending Newark Livestock Market a free, comprehensive and confidential health screening clinic. The health M.O.T. is given by a state registered nurse and covers not only routine checks such as blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar levels, but also a number of other health issues including mental wellbeing.
Since opening in Newark Market statistics show more than 300 Notts farmers and their staff have received advice or basic health tests for diabetes or blood pressure. Many farmers and their families find it invaluable to be able to take advantage of this service at the market, rather than having to take time to make and attend an appointment with their doctor. However, in no way should this replace a consultation with your own doctor in the case of existing concerns.
This service is currently funded by donations to the charity – NRS are deeply grateful for any organisational and financial support received and are extremely thankful for the provision of facilities by market operators, Doug and Rachel Gascoine.
NRS support the livestock market with Volunteer and Chaplaincy input.
